XML is Extensible…

This one took time to understand… What are you saying, this is understood as XML itself has extensible in it’s
name. But let’s understand the concept.
We want to say here that the XML code can be easily extended without taking any toll on the applications already
using the same code i.e. extending the code of XML has no effect on the applications already using the same
code for some purpose.
Example:
Let us have an XML code:

    <student>

    <name>Ayush</name>

    <sex>M</sex>

    </student>

And let it be used by an application that stores data for students.
Now, I add some elements to the code and the new code becomes:

    <student>

    <name>Ayush</name>

    <mail>ayushgoelblog@gmail.com</mail>

    <sex>M</sex>

    <country>India</country>

    </student>

Now, Would the above code make the application give error or crash? No, cause the application can still find the
tags required by it at the right place. It would not be bothered by the presence of other tags.
Thus, We can conclude that the code is extensible…
